How to Make Footprint Christmas Tree Cards

Supplies

- Green tempura kids paint, or other kid-safe paint
- Sponge brush
- Heavy card stock paper, cut to size – big enough to fit a footprint and your envelopes. 4×6 or 5×7 is typically standard
- Colorful, fine-tip markers
- Felt tip pen or marker for signing
- Envelopes if you are going to be mailing these
Directions
- Cut card stock paper to fit your child’s foot and your envelopes.
- I use this paper cutter to cut our paper – it’s really affordable and I’ve been using it for years!
- Using the sponge brush, cover your child’s foot with green paint
- Have your child stamp his/her foot onto the card stock paper.
- If you’re making these with a baby, you’ll need to stamp the paper yourself
- Once the paint has dried thoroughly, use a black fine tip marker to draw your “string” for Christmas lights.
- I usually just go in a zig-zag pattern
- Draw lights on with colored markers
- Add a yellow star on top – either with a marker or a sticker
- Write your message and that’s it!
* Optional – if you want to save some time drawing lights on your cards, just let your kids decorate the tree with stickers. Whatever makes your life easier – both turn out superintendent cute .
